Olivia finished the book a few weeks back, so I promised her we’d watch the movie together. As I watched it I was baffled at how much Olivia is like Anne. From the opening scene when Anne is walking in the woods while she has her nose in a book to the way she is just way to out-spoken!
I can’t go to the grocery anymore without Olivia walking behind me reading her next novel. It’s actually kinda funny, but I usually let her do it as long as I’m not in a hurry. She’s pretty good at keeping up and reading at the same time.
The following are all quotes from anne that Olivia has said at one time or another:
“I don’t mean any offense, but if you had any imagination at all you would have thought of this already!”
“I promise never to get angry again, even though my hair is red!”
“If you only knew how much I wanted to say and didn’t, you’d be very proud!”
Oh, man… I have my work cut out for me!

My Baby!
I am in the process of weaning my almost three year old. This is the child who in the first week she would not nurse a bit and I was sadly resolving to bottle feed her. However, she eventually got the hang of nursing and never wanted to stop! She is now only nursing once in the morning and once at night. Sometimes she’ll skip those. Weird that I still nurse my 3 year old? Probably. But heck, I homeschool and am becoming a doula too. We all know that homeschoolers are out there, and I was recently told that ALL doulas are weird people. That was news to me. But hey, I guess I can add one more thing to the “reasons Rachael is weird” list!
Anyway, I digress. I’m weaning Uma. This morning she started nursing and looked up at me very confused. She said, “mama, this one doesn’t work anymore!” I thought it was quite funny. She views me as a defective machine now!
